Festival time of year

Festival season is upon us and I’ve already been to Crime Fest in Bristol where I did a panel with Liz Nugent, Liz Mistry and Robert Thoroughgood, chaired by Alex Shaw. Then it was off to the only Prime Ministerial library in the UK, Gladstone’s Library in Hawarden to give a talk. Beautiful library which anyone can visit. A flying visit to Shetland Islands for Shetland Noir which included a 27 hour journey home thanks to cancellations of both flights and trains! Finally the Self Publishing conference on the South Bank yesterday.

This week I also graduated in absentia with my MLitt in Crime writing and forensic investigation from the university of Dundee. I won the Val McDermid dissertation prize and then met the great woman in Shetland which was so nice.

I’m just embarking on the editorial notes for book six The Teacher which is out in January of next year.

The US deal is now complete so The Politician and The Monk should be available there very soon.
